Activity 2 - Musical Time

After watching the musical I learned tat this Musical is extremely challenging. The vocals are very demanding and for the leads the amount of memorization that has to be done is unreal. I think that the people in the musical this year are more than capable of tackling such a big musical. Being "The Witch" in this years musical the scene that stood out most to me was scene 3. In this scene Edward, Don Price and Zacky Price enter a swamp in search of  The Witch. In this scene the trees are the ensemble and they "come to life" after all three boys are off the stage, they start moving around the stage and then freeze when the boys re-enter. The witch has a confidence about her that is just so admirable, watching the musical really helped me with getting to know my character and how i should be reacting to each thing. I'm not exactly sure what the exact lesson of the story is, but for me it was to always appreciate your family no matter how crazy they are. Understanding the story line is a must because it can get a little confusing. It helped me with getting in to character because the more that you understand all the characters around you the more that your going to be able to act off them and eventually your part will evolve. Every time someone plays a different character in a musical they put there own little twist on it, it doesn't take one person to do that, but a group of people playing different parts together and feeding off each other.
